5 Bible Verses For A Better Relationship

The Bible is a book about love.

It reveals how much God loves us and how we should love God in return.

As much as the Bible teaches us about spiritual love, it can also teach us about how we should treat our romantic partner.

What are the rewards for allowing scripture to teach us about how we should behave toward our husband, wife, boyfriend, or girlfriend? We’ll enjoy a stronger relationship, more happiness, and a deeper sense of appreciation.

One important piece of advice from scripture helps teaches couples to support each other …

1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.

This verse tells Christians that they should strongly encourage each other. We have the opportunity to do that for our partners every day.

The Book of Proverbs instructs husbands to appreciate their wives.

Proverbs 31:10-11
Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.

If a person is given a gift, but that person can’t appreciate it, that gift will give them no joy. Husbands need to develop the wisdom to appreciate the gift from God that their wives are.

The Apostle Peter wrote persecuted Christians with life-changing advice …

1 Peter 4:8
And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.

We can all remember a time when we first fell in love and we thought our partner was perfect. Of course, they were not perfect. But our love covered up the imperfections. So, if something about our partner is bothering us, we should ask ourselves if we are loving them enough.

A fight or a tough time in a relationship doesn’t have to mean the relationship is bad, it may just mean the best days are coming.

Ecclesiastes 7:8
Better is the end of a thing than its beginning. The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Every successful marriage that we have seen got better over time. Those successful marriages had trials and challenges. Though tough to endure, challenges can make relationships stronger. What matters is how relationships evolve and improve with time.

One of the greatest Bible verses on love was written the Apostle Paul …

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

For better relationships, we should read these verses written by Paul every day. When we develop the ability to exhibit the treats revealed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, our relationships will produce the fruits of all true love stories.
