Be A Hero In The Movie Of Your Life

Have you ever marveled at the bravery and fortitude of your favorite movie characters? Whether it’s Indiana Jones, Simba (from The Lion King), or Helen Keller (from The Miracle Worker) … these characters started out in trouble with seemingly impossible odds. But because of their positive qualities, they won the day and experienced victory. Maybe that’s why Biblical characters (like Moses, Noah, and even our Lord and savior Jesus) have made such captivating characters in movies.  What has made movies like The Ten Commandments and The Greatest Story Ever Told so captivating is the trials and tribulations the biblical characters struggled through. Their faithful obedience to God gave them the strength to persevere. And we are inspired by these uplifting stories.

Like Moses In The Ten Commandments, You Must Accept The Call

Every hero in every movie must accept the call to adventure. When God called Moses to free the Jewish people from the bondage of Egyptian slavery, Moses at first was hesitant. He asked if God should pick another to speak for Him, since Moses suffered from a speech impediment.  If Moses had not accepted God’s call, he would have missed out on one of the greatest, grandest adventures in human history. And just like Moses, we all must accept God’s call to adventure. We all must accept the call to do God’s work. Accepting the call brings challenges. But remember, it’s those trails that make the adventure so exciting and magnificent.

Be The Hero Of Your Own Movie!

As a Christian, you should not let your challenges and hardships slow you down. They are just part of your own glorious story … a story that will show how – no matter what life throws at you – God is the source of your victory. Just like Moses probably inspired you in The Ten Commandments, you may find that your story inspires others and reveals how wondrous it is when God goes to work. The Christian author C.S. Lewis said, “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending. When Moses first approached Pharaoh, the situation became worse for the Jewish people.

Exodus 5:7  -- "Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves."

But that setback didn’t stop Moses from going forward with God’s plan.  And just like Moses, we must keep moving forward through adversities, trusting in God’s promises to us.

Joshua 1:9 --  "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not affrighted, neither be thou dismayed: for Jehovah thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

Embrace YOUR Movie!

Every morning it’s LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION -- your adventure as a Christian awaits you. Yes, you’ll face trials and tribulations. But like Moses, Joseph, Job, and all the heroes of the Bible … God has prepared you for any adventure!
