How Noah Can Teach You Keep Your Head Above Water

Are you having trouble keeping your head above water during these challenging times?

Take a lesson from Noah. Nobody had higher waters to contend with than him.

Noah was the laughingstock of his friends and neighbors … he spent decades of his life on work that others thought was meaningless … and for much of his life, he probably felt that he had the responsibility of the whole world on his shoulders.

When Noah started building the ark, people did not even know what rain was.

"For the Lord God had not caused it to rain, and there was no man to till the ground (Genesis 2:5)."

And biblical records show that there was no large body of water even near Noah. No wonder people thought Noah was crazy.

Are there times you feel like you’re in the same “BOAT” … like it’s all up to you and nobody is in your corner?

The good news is that Noah’s life has some very important lessons that can help you through life’s trials.

Do Like Noah And Apply Faith, Patience, and Endurance.

Noah had faith in God AND in the blueprint that God gave him for the ark. Blueprint? You bet. Take a look …

"This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. (Genesis 6:15)"

What’s fascinating is that current scientific studies confirm that it seems the ark would have stayed afloat even loaded with the weight of two of every animal on board. And Noah had tremendous patience in building the ark. A Jewish tradition states that Noah planted the trees for the wood it to build the Ark 120 years before the flood.

And, like Noah, try to apply endurance to your challenges. As difficult as it can be to have to endure, it has its rewards. This is what the book of Romans has to say about endurance …

"More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us …” (Romans 5:3-4)

Don’t Fear If Rain Is In The Forecast!

So, be like Noah and don’t worry if rain is about to fall. You’ve got faith, patience, and endurance. And you’ve got God on your side to always get you through the storm and keep your head above water!
