Paul uses this verse to ensure that nothing can come between us and God. Our relationships we build with God as believers are deeper than any entity could ever break. God's love for us can never waiver. Paul uses death as his first example in this to emphasize that it is not our end, but rather our beginning of life beside the Lord in heaven, even closer than we were in life to him. He goes on to list both worldly and supernatural beings, showing us that none could ever challenge God's love for us. We must not fear these evils because our relationship with God will always prevail, and he will always save us.
