This verse is about having faith that the Lord is real. It is not enough when we have hardships in life to turn to God just because it seems right. We must truly believe that God will actually be there and is real and merciful to be able to receive his gifts. The Lord will not reward those who are not truly faithful. We must humble ourselves before him, and believe wholeheartedly in his power and wisdom for him to help us and guide us through our lives.
