In this verse, David is describing his appreciation to the Lord for sending him down a path which fulfills his life. He is eternally grateful for God's never ending love. God has the power to lead us through a life of peace, joy, and happiness. When we follow him we are paving the way for the best life we could possibly live. At the end of this road waits the greatest place of all, heaven, a place filled with eternal love and light.
