In this verse, David is confessing his sins to the Lord. He uses the word "transgressions," to describe his sinful acts when addressing God. He asks the Lord for forgiveness for these acts, and in return, God forgives his sins.God is the only being powerful enough to forgive us for our sins in life. When we fall to evil, we must humble ourselves before him so that he may cleanse our souls. Once he forgives us, we are able to bring ourselves back onto a Holy path in life in God's good grace.
