In this verse, Paul is telling all believers of the Lord to not sleep. By this he means to stay alert and aware in wait for God to return. When God returns he will take his believes and deliver them to eternal peace and serenity in heaven. We must continuously prepare ourselves for the Lord’s arrival, so when he comes to claim us we are ready. He will come for all who are true followers and to those who have remained faithful to him throughout their lives.
