This verse tells us that arrogance and pride are the downfall of man. In order to achieve peace, one must be humble. Humility leads to honor. Both man and God reject those that are "haughty" or arrogant. God rewards those that are humble, as Jesus was. With pride and arrogance, man will make poor decisions and ultimately self-destruct, while the humble man will thrive and will be blessed.
