You, as a Christian, want to help bring more blessings to people’s lives. But just how can we ask for God’s blessings?
Ask In The Name Of Jesus
Jesus’ name literally means SALVATION.
Acts 4:12
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”
When we align ourselves with the will of God anything that we ask in Jesus’ name will be given.
John 14:13-14
Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.
But from this verse it’s clear we should not ask for our own selfish need. We should ask so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
When we call upon the name of our savior, Christ Jesus, we connect to a power that is above reason.
Luke 10:17
The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
Jesus’ followers did not have to speak lengthy monologues to make demons depart. All they needed to do was speak Jesus’ name.
When You Go To God In The Name Of Jesus, Expect Blessing
Scripture comforts us by telling us that when we go to the Father in the name of Jesus, we can and should expect God’s blessing.
Acts 3:6
But Peter said, “I have no silver or gold, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”
When Jesus went to the Father, Jesus prayed already acknowledging that He was heard …
John 11:41-42
Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you listened to me. I know that you always listen to me, but because of the multitude standing around I said this, that they may believe that you sent me.”
Don’t Misuse Jesus’ Name
Our Lord And Savior Wants To Protect And Bless Us – So Go Ahead And Name Drop
God wants to do good for His children. And He has given us the divine tools we need (like Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and Jesus’ precious name) to experience God’s blessing. So, speak Jesus’ name with confidence, because there is no name greater.
Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
