Keep Your Focus On Christ

Race car drivers sometimes find themselves careening out of control, often speeding toward something dangerous … like a wall.

These race car drivers are taught – DON’T LOOK AT THE WALL. Look where you WANT to go. Race cars tend to move in the direction of the driver’s sight and focus.

It’s the same way for Christians! Should we focus on our problems, worries, and fears? Or should we focus on God’s promises, love, and guidance?

Psalm 91:14

“Because he has set (focused) his love on me, therefore I will deliver him.
I will set him on high, because he has known my name.

God Is Always Focusing On You.

The gospel of Luke tells us that God has counted every hair on your head. In fact, God knows and is aware of every happening in your life (Luke 12:7)

The Danger Of Not Focusing On God.

Have you ever seen someone “Zone Out”? If someone is speaking to a “zoned-out” person, that person won’t hear. The simple truth is, unless we’re looking for something … have our focus on something … we probably won’t notice it – even if it hits us in the face.

Very simply, our focus determines what we actually notice.

Focus On God To Connect With God And Conquer Your Fears And Problems!

But when you focus on Father God and Jesus, your mind is prepared to receive guidance. Your ear will be listening for God’s quiet voice. When you focus on God your soul is ready to see His signs and receive His messages.

Romans 8:5
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

If King David was not focused on God when he faced Goliath in battle, David would have been obsessing about Goliath’s size. But David was focused on God, so he was able to focus on the opening in Goliath’s helmet … a perfect target for his slingshot.

It’s Amazing What A Change Of Focus Can Help Us Accomplish!

If a person just changed their focus a little and read the Bible for 15 minutes a day, that person could read through the entire Bible in just one year. Just one little good deed per day would amount to a heavenly amount of kindness throughout the year. A small change in focus can add up to much more Christlikeness during the course of a year.

So, remember, when it feels like your life is careening out of control, don’t scream and hit the brakes. Correct your focus … look to Christ … and feel your life accelerate toward more blessings and a deeper connection with God.
