Repeat After Me: Yes! I! Can!

Have you ever thought that all your efforts might be for nothing? Or that maybe your dreams will never come true?

Well, there’s GOOD NEWS that’s 100% trustworthy. Here it is:

PHILIPPIANS 4:13: "I can do all things in him who strengthens me."

What does this mean for you? It means that your goals and dreams are attainable, if your heart and mind are in the right place.

But you might be thinking, “My dream has not come true.” Let’s take a closer look at why you should be joyfully hopeful.

The Bible verse above, from PHILIPPIANS, does not include a time frame. Maybe your goal is to help your child lead a happy life. Or possibly it’s to live with less financial worry. Philippians 4:13 doesn’t say that “all things” must be accomplished today. If you remember the story of Job, that long-suffering man had to have faith that God would keep His promises. In fact, Job never lost faith from one calamity after another. Job’s story, like any good adventure story, puts the main character through trials and tribulations.

Now here’s the tricky part … can you see the trials and tribulations as blessings that make you stronger and wiser? Can you see how those temporary setbacks will help you more fully appreciate the goal achieved and your happy ending?

Can you have enough faith to notice your little step forward? Remember, slow progress IS progress. How many people – instead of standing in faith – have given up because their progress was not fast enough?

How many people – because they did not have faith – did not look for signs of progress? And because they did not look, they did not see. But when you have unshakable faith that God will help you realize your dream, you’ll look for – AND SEE -- the signs of progress.

Are You Dreaming The Right Dream?

It’s been said that you shouldn’t pray to align God with your desires. You should pray to align your desires to God’s. If it seems God keeps giving you STOP signs, maybe it’s because He has something better for you in mind. So, yes, you CAN do all things in Him who strengthens you. That’s especially true when your desires are aligned with God’s plan.

Remember, a person in motion tends to stay in motion. So, be strong. Roll up your sleeves. Get working. And have faith.
