“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
1 Timothy 4:12
Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.
It might be worrisome to share the good news of Christ. What if someone has a question that’s hard to answer? What if we should let God down by not knowing enough? First, don’t be afraid of what you don’t know. You know that Jesus is the son of God who came to earth to serve as a sacrifice to atone for our sins. If someone asks a difficult question – like, “Why does God allow evil to exist?” – and you’re unsure how to answer, tell them it’s a good question and you’ll soon get back to them. That provides you with the opportunity to learn more and show that you want to give them the best answer possible. Click here for more about this.
Talking to people about your faith is not usually a “one and done.” It’s often a process. So don’t be in a rush. Don’t push. Give your words and the Holy Spirit time to work.
Don’t worry about results. It’s not your job to change a person’s heart. Only God can do that. This means that you don’t have to worry about rejection. Your job is simply to open a line of communication to people about Jesus. The results are in God’s hands (1 Corinthians 3:6).
By sharing what you know about Jesus the Messiah with others, you are giving God pleasure. You are sharing the glory of God’s kingdom. Is there any other work more worthy than that?
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
